About Sheila

Sheila is an actress based in Dublin, Ireland. She holds a BA (hons) in Performing Arts and an MA (hons) in Drama and Theatre Studies. As of June ’13, she is a graduate of Bow Street’s (formerlyThe Factory) acclaimed Screen Acting Programme, Ireland’s only full-time training resource dedicated specifically to acting for camera.

Sheila will be next appearing as ‘Angela’ in Jim Sheridan’s feature adaptation of Sebastian Barry’s novel ‘The Secret Scripture’ (2016), joining the cast of Rooney Mara, Eric Bana, Vanessa Redgrave, Theo James, and fellow Bow Street alumni Jack Reynor.

Previous film and TV work includes ‘How To Be Happy’ (Filmbase), ‘Ripper Street’ (BBC) and ‘Hardy Bucks’ (RTE). Previous theatre work includes ‘Conversations, Exhortations, Exhaustions’ and ‘Which Absurd Cat Are You?’ (Theatre Lovett), both ‘My First Gun’ and ‘Ballybán’ (Collaborations Festival, Smock Alley), ‘Love Song’ (Smock Alley), ‘Wish You Were Here’ (Dublin Fringe), ‘Sleep Skips My Heart’ (ISDA Fringe), and ‘Kitchen’ (The Attic Studio/Origin 1st Irish ‘Big Green Apple’ project winner).

She has also interned for both The Irish Repertory Theatre and Origin Theatre’s ‘1st Irish’ festival in Manhattan, NY.

Sheila is currently a member of Bow Street’s Actors Studio. As a portrait artist, pianist, singer and writer, she is involved in all areas of the arts. She also enjoys studying history and runs a popular blog on President John F. Kennedy which boasts 2,900+ followers and over 200,000 hits!

In her native Co. Mayo, Sheila is also a board member of the ‘Mary Of The Roses’ charity.
